I get that he needs a lot of spots. What he DOESN’T need is a lot of spots at the front of a busy shopping strip.
I was happy to see someone park in the spot in front of his truck (cut off in the picture, whatever), meaning it would be impossible to get out - the sidewalk and storefronts were too close to back the trailer sufficiently to clear the spot.
Edit: for reference, here’s an overhead view of how he was parked (in red)

Unless there are some very serious obstacles just outside the photo, it looks super easy to get out of that spot. Crank the wheel hard left, reverse until the truck’s at a sufficient angle to pull straight out into the lane behind. Gooseneck trailers are much more tolerant to articulation than the bumper-style hitch.
If you’ve ever taken a trailer that large into the city, you would know you grab the first spot that you can find.

If its in the city, I can understand him parking like that.

The back 20 rows were empty. He’s literally at the very front of the parking. This was just laziness and jackassery.

Hard to see in the picture but there’s not enough room to back it up enough to clear cars that had started parking next to him. Here’s an overhead view (he’s the red box), the back rows were empty (as well as the back half of the lot).

I find it very hard to believe that it would even be possible for him to park like this in a “busy shopping strip”.

The trailer is barely in that last spot. A blind person could easily back a gooseneck out that way and take off

Were the horses in wheelchairs? That's key info.

Don’t need to go backwards. If you crank the wheel and reverse, it’ll pivot the trailer, pushing the front end sideways and more or less leaving the back end where it is. Jackknifing a gooseneck trailer usually won’t cause problems until the cab of the truck hits the trailer, so there’s a lot of room to play with. Unless there’s a bunch of cars parked along the passenger side of the truck/trailer, I see no issue with that manoeuvre to get out.

Unless somebody parks in the spot directly behind the trailer, it looks like it’d be fairly easy to get out of it.

some animals require lots of “attention” and manage to find their way out of trailers either on their own, or with HELP.
looks like the guy was trying to keep track of them. or didnt have a lot of experience parking the thing.

I can understand a truck+trailer combo needing several spots and having to park across them, but parking diagonally like that is extra douchey. From what I’ve seen, most people who drive something like this to a shopping plaza have the courtesy to stay away from the front area.
